UPDATE: Registration fee invoices for products actively registered in the U.S. Virgin Islands will be sent out in February 2023.
On October 18, 2022, the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Planning & Natural Resources (DPNR) updated its Pesticide Control Program Rules and Regulations to include a $400 biennial fee for products registered in the territory. Renewal applications or product labels must be submitted 60 days prior to December 31 biannually. A $100 late fee will now also be due for any applications not filed at least 60 days before the expiration date.
For existing registrations, a fee of $35 per month will be due for the balance of the registration period beginning January 18, 2023. SRC has contacted the DPNR to confirm this date and determine acceptable payment methods and how fees will be assessed and invoiced.
Additionally, a $50 fee will be due for “each modification of an existing registration other than a renewal.” SRC interprets this to mean every label update will require a $50 fee but has contacted the DPNR to confirm. This fee is due within 15 days of receiving label acceptance.
The revised regulations are extensive and make many changes to the registration process and compliance requirements in the U.S. Virgin Islands. SRC is working with our contacts within the DPNR regarding the Revised Rules and Regulations and will update our clients as more information becomes available.
Please reach out to your SRC State Registration Specialist with any questions about how these changes affect your registrations.
As always, thank you for allowing SRC to partner with you.
