Celebrating Over 25 Years of Service….

In the 1990’s, two women working together in Northern Indiana discussed starting their own business.

When their positions were to be transferred out of state, they decided to remain in the Mid-West and implement their vision. Owning their own business became a reality in 1996 with the creation of Scientific & Regulatory Consultants, Inc. (SRC).

Sally Hayes and Rhonda Jones brought together their unique expertise in microbiology, chemistry, and toxicology as well as their collaborative experience with government entities. SRC addressed a need in the antimicrobial and pesticide market to provide scientifically based solutions to challenges facing the industry.

Rhonda bought out her partner, Sally Hayes, in 2013, becoming the sole owner of SRC. Over the past 8 years, she continued to successfully grow the company into a widely respected consulting firm in the antimicrobial/pesticide industry.  In 2021, during the celebration of SRC’s 25th Anniversary, SRC’s Chief Financial Officer and Rhonda’s daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” Bumbaugh, purchased the company continuing the family legacy.  Part of a long-term succession plan, Rhonda remains Director and CEO/President of SRC and will continue to serve our valued clients for many years.

SRC’s clientele encompasses entrepreneurial startups to multinational corporations from around the world. Our strong science background and industry experience uniquely positions us to provide technical and regulatory support for your project.

Our offices…

SRC’s offices are located in Columbia City, IN, in the Marshall, McNagny & Clugston building (circa 1890). The third floor office is the former law office of Thomas R. Marshall, former Governor of Indiana, and Vice President of the United States under Woodrow Wilson.

In 2019, SRC completed a renovation project to restore and preserve our historic headquarters, which included returning the storefront display windows to their original height.

Our legacy…

SRC is actively involved in local philanthropic activities including the Whitley County Community Foundation, Whitley County Humane Shelter, Fort Wayne YWCA Women’s Shelter, Relay for Life, the Center for Non-Violence, Mission 25, Troy Center, and the Center for Whitley County Youth. We also provide monetary and hands on support for local science camps/fairs and United Way Day of Caring.

Since 2002, SRC has provided scholarships to help local graduating seniors and non-traditional students realize their dream of an advanced science degree.
