Starting July 1, 2025, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture and New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food have increased their pesticide product registration fees.
Vermont
The State of Vermont has increased it’s annual registration fees for all pesticide products, including minimum risk pesticides, under a new agriculture law (H.484). Per the bill, signed into law on June 11, 2025, a $50 surcharge per product is now added to the existing $200 annual fee, bringing the total cost of registration to $250 per product. This increase will affect both annual product registration certificate renewals and new product registrations.
Why the Increase?
The added fee supports:
- Pesticide disposal programs
- Pollinator protection and water quality efforts
- Development of an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system
This update aligns with Vermont’s broader environmental goals and ensures sustainable management of pesticide use and waste. The SRC State Registration has already updated our system and estimates to account for this increase that will be in effect for the November 30th product renewal deadline.
New Hampshire
The State of New Hampshire has increased its pesticide registration fee for both initial registrations and registration renewals from $160 to $220 per product. This change was passed into law with Rule Agr 2300 and justified the change as an inflationary increase to cover the change in Division costs and salaries over the passed ten years since the fee was last updated. The SRC State Registration has already updated our system and estimates to account for this increase that will be in effect for the December 31st product renewal deadline.
